Re: Users State
Thanx Darendor, we have had ours, if not in personal, but in discussion, which was ok to me. I have 24 MB here in codes and recherches, codes in VB6 and c64 assembler, however this is too big to post here, and I don not use any webspace, so atm I dunno how to publish it to interested people here. Ag...

Users State
Dear Fiends, I am now in a state that my lung cancer will hold me from working on BT sources. That means that I cannot work further on the sources and probably must hand over what I have now if anyone would be interested. I wish you all very well for your dedication on BT series and thank in particu...

Re: Inscriptions on the wall
You should be good, if you just turn in your spot and turn back, then after the fight you should be able to read the wall again.

Re: Remastering Bard's Tale 1, 2 & 3
Very interesting! I use my spare time to continue my reverse enginieering BT1 for C64. As a next step I will soon come up with a disk version in German language ;) It will merely be a translation with some German characters added to the font and some graphic exchanged. Dunno how Becky and the others...

Re: CBM64 Bard's Tale 1 Disassembly
Agreed. I was always in awe of how sophisticated the graphics compression of BT1 must be. ... I had similar thoughts when I saw the BT1 disk intro animations for the first time. In one of the articles here the animation mechanism is explained (based on the excellent work of tedious ). Afaik the tit...

Re: CBM64 Bard's Tale 1 Disassembly
I only wished, that Burgerbecky could decide to publish the complete sources of BT1. She was so kind to send me some snippets to get me on the track.
Imho BT had the most sophisticated RPG-Engine on the CBM64 ever, but thats only my 2 cents.

Why are you all so quiet?
I frequently check this board, because it is one of my favourites. Now I have to observe that there were hardly any posts in weeks.
I fear, that it might be closed, if the BT fans get to sleep....

Re: Need game mechanices on apple version (steam bards tale)
This sounds like a quote from the Bard's Tale Construction Set manual. Afaik, and I might be wrong here, this formula was not used in any of the versions, but only in games made with the BTCS.2) 1-3% per level + 1% per point of dex over 14 (so 18 dex would be 1-3%+4 per level up to 99% max.

Re: Need game mechanices on apple version (steam bards tale)
Game mechanics (as well as bugs, basic values etc etc) vary from version to version, thats why I asked. Rules that are true for one version will be different for many others.

Re: Need game mechanices on apple version (steam bards tale)
WHAT Apple version is it? The original Apple II version or the GS version or the MacIntosh version?
Not that I know the mechanics of any of them, although the Apple II version is the "canonical" original and the C64 version is codewise identical.

While we were talking about MM6: the ENTER key toggles between real time and round based fights.

Re: Forgotten Forces - a new grid-based dungeoncrawler
Well the rat looked very close to the one of MM 3 to 5, but I just checked, they are different. As for MM6, afai remember it was the first MM with free movement (incl. flying). I recall there was a setting to have all fights in real time or round based. Imo by the nature of RPGs (I am an early 70s p...
