Re: Nonsense messages in the game?
How do you mean? You can find him (Dargoth) with a friend at 20N, 0E on level 5 of his tower. I looked all over for Dargoth playing the C64 version 25+ years ago and never did find him. I came to assume that he wasn't in it. Looking at the tower map. that location is out of the way, and obviously ...

Re: Nonsense messages in the game?
1 - Doesn't the answer affect who you fight? Agree in that it otherwise doesn't seem significant. Yes, burn results in a trivial fight, while fade results in no fight. You get no loot, and it's not difficult, and there seems to be no ramifications, and it's in a tedious little room at the back of a ...

Re: Versions compared
[...] I'll find out if the fighters can hit anything in the IIgs version of the BT2 soon. SPOILER! They can. I resurrected the thread over here ( http://bardstale.brotherhood.de/talefiles/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=833) to report that I finally played through a game where my fighters were only ...

Nonsense messages in the game?
Spoilers, obviously. I'm still sort of trying to make a good set of hints for Bard's Tale 2. I feel it really needs them. Some things, I still have no understanding of. If they mean nothing, that's fine, I can build hints that suggest and then state that these can be ignored. But I don't want to be ...

Re: Re:
I wanted to come back and revisit this topic quickly, based on further experience. I now think the monsters AI does indeed key on vulnerable members left on the front lines. indeed, and if we have low level characters mixed with high level characters, we can't run away from monsters as easily. Okay ...

Re: Amusing story to a glitch in the Kindle version
Heh. I guess that's one way to look at it. I had what appeared to be another glitch, but sadly no happy ending: I found what appeared to be the Stasis Chamber in Kylearan's Tower (BTW, what is hell is a "good" wizard doing with one of those?). Not sure if it permanently traps you, or just holds you ...

Re: Incompetent fighters
While I encountered this problem too during my C64 playthrough around 2012, I'm pleased to report that on the Apple IIgs, this problem is completely absent. Sure, my monk started missing now and then around the Maze of Dread point, but it's like a 5% miss chance or so, whereas previously he was ...

WarrioirOfIce: I assume your game is complete by now?
Nope, i umm, got sidetracked and i am playing PanzerCorps for the moments. Plus, knowing that amiga version got all those bugs is sort of a turn off. i might start it up again on C64.
Yeah ...

Re: Amiga - Starting a new run!
The non-whdload version does access the floppy for every empty building, but at 800% floppy speed it's not very noticeable. More noticeable is loading the image of the temple every time you look at one. Buh. WIth a whdload setup this goes away, but it's some work to get that and it doesn't fix the ...

Currently goofing around in the catacombs again, it seems like the challenge is praying for the ranged weapons to drop in sufficient numbers to make a difference.

Re: Inxile announce BT IV is their next project
EA was willing to cut a deal, probably because Wasteland 2 made money (my guess).

Re: Tips for getting the IIgs version of Destiny Knight runn
Years later: MESS handles the IIgs pretty flawlessly. There's even some info on how to get it going in the pcgames wiki: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Bard%27s_Tale Though note that with the current revision of MESS/etc you need an apple 2e rom also, as mentioned http://www.gog.com/forum/the ...

The C64 tape version of The Bard's Tale 1 had a 'party editor'. During my levels, I would load iteratively load individual characters into the roster and pool gold to one individual, increasing my gold so that I could afford healing at the Temples. It's not cheating if it's within the engine of the ...
