IF your playing BT1 you might not want to read this as its kind of a spoiler but I found the mad god's burial preperation chamber in the catacombs. I was excited when I found it thinking I would find something cool like a special weapon or something quest related but it just says its the burial cham...

I finished reading A Fortress of Frost and Fire and I wouldn't say they have anything to do with the Bard's Tale game. It appears that it was just a tricky way to sell some books back when the game were still popular. The only similarity is the story has a bard in it that has magic in his playing ab...

Just cast a Scry Site spell (SCSI). It will show you where you are in the dungeon. The entry stairs of the first level are always at 0N 0E, and position given by the spell is given from this point (for exemple, when you arrive at first level of the sewers (so after the wine cellar), you are 2 level...

In fact, I finished the game and still wondering what was the purpose of this specific statue. Maybe it was just for background purpose : a strange cult in the sewers, proof of the dark influence of Mangar's presence. Besides that, I don't think it was a typo. You can encounter spiders also, and ma...

Spider Statue
In level 1 of the sewers I found a statue of a spider. When I choose to search it it said I was being attacked by 1 "Spinner". Was that a typo in the game? Was it supposed to read attacked by 1 "spider"? What was the purpose of the statue? Will I find out later in the game or is ...

Map advice
I noticed in Bard's Tale I when your in a dungeon and you reach the edge of a map it moves you to the other side of the map. That makes it kind of hard to make the map! Any advice on how to know when you have moved past the edge of the map? I know they are 22x22 but that doesn't much help if you don...

Re: Yeah!
It's always overwhelming to see that there are so many people out there that still have that strong affinity to this great game! I am one of them!! :D I think there are still quite a few of us around. The mainstream console market has really killed us I think, the dev shops all want the big money w...

Bard's Tale and mapping
I love these games and I haven't played them since I was probably about 14 or 15 when I played through most of Destiny Knight. It's one of my fondest memories on the C64. I remember playing BT1 a bit but not that much of it as I recall I wasn't really sure what to do in it. So anyway, Im playing thr...
