C64 memory range where the party data is held?

Post by Flanimal »

I would like to transfer my tape-loaded party from the C64 tape version of BT1 to the C64 disk version. I suspect the disk and tape versions hold the party data at the same memory locations

So I can use the Action Replay cartridge to save any chunk of memory from the tape game, and load it into the disk game.

So, does anyone know the memory range where the C64 BT1 game stores the party data in RAM?

Check out the Developer's Haven area where we tore apart the BT1 code last year. I know we posted it somewhere there...

It has information for the party disk file, but not the memory.

Perhaps I can use C64 VICE emulator tool icu64 to visually see which memory locations get changed when I load the party from tape. My guess is that the disk version holds the party at the same memory locations, so once I know the memory range, I can transfer my party from the tape BT version to the disk BT version.

This may take me a long time. If anyone wants to 'beat me to it', then feel free to transfer my tape party to disk
