WaybackMachine => BT Builder?

Post by Brian the Fist »

Has anyone of you tried to use the WaybackMachine (http://web.archive.org) to possibly restore the missing thread? It just came into my mind that I used this service some years ago to successfully restore parts of another website. I would have tried immediately but unfortunately I am unable to access this website due to the webfilter restrictions here in the office at work. Of course I will try it from home this evening.

I have (I did it several days ago when Flanimal mentioned the possibility of it being archived). As near as I can tell, the site was last archived in mid 2012 - I can see the BT Builder thread (at that point it looks like it was up to page 12, so perhaps a third of what it ultimately had). The problem is that trying to actually open up any of those pages produces a broken link (specifically, "this page wasn't archived"). But I don't claim to be an expert in this stuff, so I could easily be missing something basic.

I was checking http://bardstale.brotherhood.de/talefiles/board, *not* http://bardstale.brotherhood.de/talefiles/forum (just so that everyone knows I really was checking the original forum, not this version).

EDIT: I also checked Google's archive, but I couldn't find anything dating from before when Darendor nuked the thread...

Yeah, I checked the google archives myself and couldn't find anything, as well. It's okay, though. Like a phoenix we rise from the ashes. ;P BTW, Caars, did you get the new city tileset? :lol:

Yep! Very nice! Big improvement over the previous version - it has so much more "depth" - if that makes sense.
