Items/gold gone when returning to game after save

I am playing BT1 1985 in DosBox, It runs and can play game and save party with no issue. But if I close the game and reload party, the characters are there but no items or gold whatsoever in inventory.

In order to save the characters, they have to be Removed from the party. That's when they are written to disk. The "Save Party" option just saves the names of the characters in the party.

Thank you I will try that. also realised that saving party then closing dosbox window was resulting in naked and penniless characters. since using the leave game option I havnt had the issue again. Only stumbled upon the info while downloading an alternate source for the game. I have it also ( a much more basic version than the dos ) in C64 but had loads of problems sorting out a working keymap so gave up DosBox seems to be easier to manage for the less tech savvy like myself
