Hello,
In the past I took some time to get the best, or almost the best equipment for my party, which consists of paladins, wizards and a monk.

Here are my recommendations for paladins:
crystal sword
mthr plate or adnt scake
dmnd helm
shield ring
elf cloak
wargloves
pureshield or dragonshield

Here are my recommendations for wizards:
luckshield
bracers [4]
shield ring
mage staff or conjur staff
alis carpet
mthr gloves
dragonwand
lorehelm

I lumbered my monk with all the important equipment so that my paladins and wizards could be armed to the teeth. My monk carries the following:
master key
shield ring
bracers [4]
arcshield
silver circle
onyx key
silvr triang
alis carpet

Crystal Sword?

Post by Hamburglar Time »

I've considered using the Crystal Sword. I just assumed that if an item sold for more than other, it did more damage. Is there a damage chart for weapons?

There's a "Silvr Square" missing from that party...

Paladins can wear Dmnd Plate can't they? If so, I'd go for this:

Paladin:
Crystal Sword (or Stoneblade/Spectre Snare for instakills)
Dmnd Plate
Dmnd Helm
Shield Ring
Elf Cloak
Wargloves
Pureshield
(if you don't exploit more than one Crystal Sword and you have warriors etc, give yr Paladins Pureblades and let the warrior have the Crystal Sword)

Monk:
Elf Cloak
Shield Ring
Bracers [4]
Speedboots

Wizards:
Mage Staff
Elf Cloak
Whatever magic stuff you wanna load them up with

Sorry, I mistyped scale there.

Im pretty sure that Paladins cannot use dmnd plate or the spectre snare. Hence warriors can get a lower armour class. But paladins are resistant to magic, and are less likely to get stoned I guess, which is a good thing.

Darendor, the silver square is with one of my wizards, probably the one who is sporting the spectre snare. A shame they can't be merged by some magic into the spectre square. ;)

Edit:
I have dragonwands for my wizards, but wizwands are better, I'd love to find some, but I dont know where they are dropped.

Edit 2:
If your wizards have space for two staffs:
My staff experiments revealed:
1 (0) Conjurer staff – halves the spell cost without needing to be equipped, use does nothing
2 (2) sorcer staff – full spell cost, combat spell unknown
3 (2) Mage staff – full spell cost, increased sp when equipped
use does nothing

Therefor best combo:
Mage staff equipped + conjurerstaff

You need Spectre Snares for everyone that can wield them.

Yeah, I know, they don't drop unless there isn't one currently in the party. But how hard was it to figure out how to get around that restriction?

I give everyone luckshields, but especially the lead character. It makes a significant difference running from encounters and resisting spells, breath attacks, and trap damage. And landing spells and area attacks like flame horn.

After they get to LO armor class I save my inventory space. So my monk only has a luck shield. Back row magic users don't need armor class, so in addition to their luckshields, they only get a mage staff or conjurstaff. Front row battlemages have a spectre snare and bracers[4]. My bard gets a spectre snare, wargloves, flame horn, and bracers[4].
