I struggled to get the IIgs version of Bard's Tale 2 working right recently.
A collection of links or anything on the topic with Bard's Tale specific notes would be welcome.
Personally I found that Kegs was mostly unmaintained and on Sweet 16 (I'm on a Mac at the moment) the game had all kinds of unpleasant stuttering, including hangs while getting healed at the temples.

MESS handles the IIgs pretty flawlessly. There's even some info on how to get it going in the pcgames wiki:
