As my party was dying epically to this horrific inferno repeatedly (Dr Strange used the Time Stone to go back so I could explore the other no-go doors), it struck me that you could have been more creative with the death messages.

The BROWN room for instance could say something like:
"As your party enters the room, a gigantic Earth Elemental laughs a hearty laugh and then stomps his foot. A fissure opens beneath your feet and you are swallowed into the abyss, never to be heard from again..."

BLUE:
"Upon entering this room, a strange machine sparks to life and a bolt of lightning zaps each party member, disintegrating them instantly. Your ashes are eventually found, however, and returned to the Adventurer's Guild..."

YELLOW:
"The instant your party enters the room, you are overcome by a wave of nausea emanating from a vat of vile liquid in the corner. Each party member collapses to the ground dead before they can react."

GREEN:
"As you enter this room, gigantic flying scarabs descend from the moss-covered walls and proceed to devour the party. Whole."

Or something.

On Fortress level 4 at 14N, 10E, the word "destroy" is misspelled as "destory".

I've made my way into the Crypt level 1, and there's a monster called "Ancien Ghoul". "Ancien" should in fact be "Ancient".

Aaaaaand, there's the one-way walls.

Do you have any idea how annoying those are to map out?

First time no typo. There are only 14 digits for the monster names...

Oh. Well might I propose "Crypt Ghoul" instead then?

It vanished completely. :?

So how did you come up with this storyline and do everything anyways? In particular, how'd you import the BTI images and dungeon walls/doors?

All images from BT1 and BT2 have the same format. So it's only copy and paste. In detail, there are also to set some bytes e.g. for background color of the image/dungeon or to assign a dungeon level to a dungeon grafic.

"Skeletors"? Really?

I don't suppose you could import an actual image of Skeletor from the He-Man cartoons?

Mergon's speech at 7N, 21E says this:

"Now I know who is behind all that evil in the region."

I think it would more grammatically correct to say instead:

"Now I know what is behind all of the evil in this region."

What do you think?

Also, nice reveal.

The magic mouth at 6N, 7E could use some rewriting.

- "reigns" should be "reigned" (past tense instead of present tense)
- the first and 2nd sentence should be joined by a comma, i.e. "...this forest, but he..." instead of being 2 separate sentences
- "and so" could be ", and, so,"
- "judgement" should be "judgment" (yes it's weird, but correct)
- the following two sentences should be joined by a semicolon, and a slight word change, thus: "bury him; alas, he found no peace"
- "Now" should have a comma and space after it: "Now, "
- the previous sentence and next one could be joined together also with a comma, and changing one word a bit: "his crypt, forcing"

I'll just rewrite the entire thing to how I think it would flow better:

Code: Select all

"Once, there was a human king who reigned in this forest, but he had evil advisors and so his realm perished and he lost his head by judgment. This crypt was built to bury him; alas, he found no peace. Now, the evil one came to this crypt, forcing the ancient king to slay all whom dared to enter. But, the evil one hadn't yet found his skull, which is still full of power. Find the skull of the ancient king and it will help you through the darkness."
