There is a new development in the Computer Role Playing Gaming community!
It's called Java Classic Role Playing Game.

"The project contains an evolving Role Playing Game framework and concrete game implementations. It is written fully in Java in the tradition of old school RPGs like Wizardry 7 and EOB. In the plans are OpenGL, AI, scripting, turn based combat, commanding a group of characters."

Currently (7/20/2007) it is in it's pre-alpha stage and is available for testing. I did a quick run-through. Very cool!

Unfortunately, it's a bit lacking in the "game" department. It seems that the author is emphasizing shiny graphics more. No problem with that, but makes it a little difficult for me to take his code and make a game out of it.

It is a project that is currently still in development. It is not completed yet. You gotta give it some time.
