The BT3-Version of WHAT computer system do you want to emulate?

You find a lot of versions for several emulators here

There are excellent emulators that work smooth and errorfree for
every of these versions.

As for the DOS version I recommend to use DosBOX (google it).

For the C64 version you can use e.g. CCS, which is my favourite, or
VICE, which is also excellent.

There are also emulators for the other versions, just google a bit.

I personally play (for nostalgic reasons) the C64 versions on CCS.
The gfx and sound of the other versions however, are of course a lot
better.

ok so i played the DOS version when i was at school, but which version looks and runs the best with an emulator, and next question, how do you run it all together?

i have installed dosbox, but this is where i fall down, i am good at gaming, but terrible with using dos and the like, i am trying to follow their instructions about creating a drive, and mounting a drive, but i seem to be failing miserably.....

any advice on what i should be doing? or is there a dummies guide to using it?

Thank you for all the advice so far!

maybe it is easier for you to use DosBOX (although that is not that hard
to configure, check the file "dosbox.conf" with notepad), that you use
instead the user interface "D-Fend Reloaded", which comes bundled with
the latest version of DosBOX. There you get an interface to set your paths
and can easily choose, how to mount it.

I played my first RPGs on the C64, so because of nostalgia I highly favor the C64 emulators. The catalog of available games is ridiculously huge, which is also a plus.

I play BT1-3 on the Vice64 emulator under Win7. It is very stable, and it has some added functionality like being able to auto load the game disk (rather than having to type load"*",8,1 and run each time).

I even wrote an RPG in 6502 Machine Language way back in the day, called "Darkon". It was just a shareware game that I posted on Quantumlink and a few other places. I was shocked 20 years later that someone actually created the disk image for it, so it can be played on the C64 emulators. I play around with in Vice64, and honestly I don't remember how to win the darn thing. Very funny to see it still alive!
