Problems with View Character Menu

Post by bardofbrothers »

Hello Everybody,

I have downloaded Bard's Tale I for C64 and run it on CCS64 emulator.
I'm writing since I have a problem with View Character Menu. Everytime I enter it (both in Adventurers' Guild or in Skara Brae) I can perform all operations (trade gold, equip items, etc.) but can't exit from the menu.
I tried hitting every key, but, still, no effects.
Can anybody help me?

Thanks and regards

It maybe a bug in the disks you use. I strongly recommend Arnolds disks, a link is posted somewhere in this forums

I tried it, but, unfortunately, I'm still stuck.
Thanks anyway.

Hmm I can't reproduce your problem.

On second char screen, I just hit space and leave the char display,
back to former menu/view.

I use CCS V 3.7 with Arnolds disks.

Anyone else an idea?

On the CCS, the C64 escape key btw is the key above the tab key.

Hello ZeroZero,

I installed again CCS (3.8) and use Arnold files.
The problem disappeared. Maybe it was just some setting on the previous CCS file I installed that caused it.
Many thanks for your assistance.

I always found hitting SPACE exited the character screen back to Skara Brae...
