Yes I was. I did a lot of work on items and save system.

@burgerbecky: Are you interested in answering questions on this new game you will be developing or should we wait for the kickstarter?
I'm happy to give some hints... :)

DW? Dragon Wars? Devil Whiskey?

I am the sole programmer of Dragon Wars for Interplay. I had no involvement in Devil Whiskey.

Darendor wrote:So Becky, was that video indeed a prototype pitch for a BTIV for EA? You'll have to forgive me, I have no audio on this computer for some reason. :?
There was never any audio produced for any of the proof of concept demos.

Bard's Tale III spiritual successor

Interested? How many of you would contribute to a kickstarter? What if the game was programmed by Rebecca Heineman (Programmer Bard's Tale III), designed by Jennell Jaquays (Bard's Tale IV from EA), Susan Manley (SSI Gold Box), Maurine Starkey (Westwood Studios), theme by Kurt Heiden (Bard's Tale ...

Code

Man, this gives me a headache.

How did Michael Cranford manage to code this game from scratch back in 1984-1985? The guy must've been a freakin' genius.

Sigh. :?

He wasn't. I was the one who manage it all.

Woo-hoo!

It's awesome to see one of the implementors in the neighborhood.

I noticed in the memory dump that the C64's kernel code isn't even used. I would've thought that stuff was essential, but I suppose if the code was going to be at all portable you'd have to write sort of your own 6502 ...

Source code

I dunno, any time I want to review the source, I access my perforce server and look at the BTI, BTII and BTIII directories.

It has things like labels, comments and programming notes, plus as an added bonus, all my complaints for the GS/OS, C64 and Apple ][ gotchas I had to program around.
