There are several faulty points in this manual which I shall attempt to clarify as I encounter them.

The first of these faulty points is the provided map of Skara Brae at the beginning of the manual; it is actually the map of Skara Brae in Bard's Tale I, but the Skara Brae in Bard's Tale NES is quite different.
