Greetings Bard's Tale fans, one and all! This month's editorial is a FAQ collection. I get a few e-mails each month asking how to get The Bard's Tale, how to find hints, and so on. So, I thought I would answer all of those questions once, and then tell people to check this page out for their answers.

But before we get into the FAQ, let's go over other news...

I added a "Quick Links" toolbar to the top of BardsTale.com. It's got a few neat links on it. It can take to the home of EA, Interplay, "Burger" Bill, as well as to other Bard's Tale sites in the ring, such as "TCBTHP", "The Bard's Tale Info Page", and "The Adventurers' Guild". To see what Bard's Tale items are on eBay at this moment, click on the "eBay" link. You can also quickly get to my editorial contents (like anyone would ever want to see that...), and don't forget that Bard's Tale 4 Petition!

Correction - In last month's editorial about Ray Casting, I stated that the Bard's Tale games used this technique. Actually, I was only guessing. What I should have said was, "Ray casting is a very popular technique that can be used to figure out which walls to put where in a block-based dungeon game". Thanks to Ben for pointing this out!

Andrew Lin created a MIDI version of "Seeker's Ballad" which should be playing from the main page. The original song was written by Dave Warhol and Aarn Abbey. Amazing MIDI talents you have, Andrew!

I have had over twenty takers on the "Add your name to BardsTale.com" feature! But please note, I'm not going to add any obscene names. Also, I'm not going to add any characters with only a name filled in. If you want to be added, enter a legitimate name, and some sanctioned Bard's Tale statistics and classes.

And now, onto the FAQ...

Where can I get help for The Bard's Tale?

I always go to The Bard's Tale Info Page when I need help.

Where can I learn more about The Bard's Tale?

Visit The Adventurers' Guild to learn all about it.

Is there a Windows version of the Bard's Tale?

No, not a true Win16 or Win32 version. As far as PC versions go, they were all created in DOS. However, the AppleWin Emulator plays the game smoothly in a Window - very cool!

Where can I get a Cluebook?

The only place to get Cluebooks now is from eBay. When you're there, search for "bard's tale" with and without an apostrophe. Some people sell things under "bards tale", and you won't find them unless you specifically search for it that way.

From eBay I've gotten one BT1 Cluebook, two BT2 Cluebooks, two BT1 games, two BT2 games, 1 BT3 game, and the NES instruction manual. Not bad at all!

Who are you?

My name is Scott Nelson, and I do not work for EA or Interplay. I am a Bard's Tale fan just like you.
